Book Summary

Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident

In the book I'm reading, Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, a boy named Artemis Fowl looks for his thought-to-be-dead father in the Arctic. With the help of fairies; Holly and Julius Root, his manservant; Butler, and a dwarf named Mulch Duggums, Artemis heads out to the Arctic to rescue his father from criminals that found him almost dead. All of this is going on while the fairy city is being attacked by an evil fairy named Opal. She's deactivated all fairy police weapons and is planning something horrific,

I've almost completed the book and so far this is what has happened.

Mood pt. 2

Now that I've gotten farther into the book, Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident. The mood has changed quite a bit. In the beginning of the book, everything was mysterious and nothing was really explained well. It made me want more, so I kept reading.

Now, as I've gotten around the middle of the book, I can really see how it's become a bit for calm and more serious. Everything is explained and I know what's going on. It doesn't make me want to read more.

Artemis and Holly are in a radioactive train and are looking for Artemis' father. Holly is a fairy and can't be near anywhere that's radioactive. She uses her magic to heal Artemis, but this leaves her with no magic left to shield her from the toxins. The mood is very serious, the author made it seem as if Holly was dead. I was shocked that a main character would die, but she didn't, thankfully.

Mood

My Book, Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident

Mood of the book

The book started out very mysterious, it didn't explain what was going on with the characters. It made me want to keep reading to find out what was happening. Artemis Fowl's father was lost and declared legally dead, but Artemis didn't believe that he was dead. He created an expedition to find his father in the Arctic, the area where he was last spotted.

The text then changed to the point of view of some criminals in the Arctic. They were complaining about where they were and why they were there. They work for the Mafiya and as they were walking, they found someone. That someone is Artemis Fowl's father.

It makes me feel tingles in my stomach, Artemis' father was found. This made me want to read more and more!

Book Summary: Part 1

Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, Summary Pt. 1

The book starts out with Artemis in a counselor's room, his mother placed him into these classes because of him losing his father. Artemis gets a call from one of his workers, this notified him that his father has been found! A group of criminals found him and took him in. In the next chapter, Butler and Holly Short are introduced. Butler is Artemis' guard and servant. Holly is a fairy who is part of a fairy police. The fairy police are facing a problem with goblins making deals with humans, which is not allowed. They blame Artemis and take him into their station, here Artemis explains himself and says it's not him. The fairies need help, so Artemis agrees to help them in exchange for them helping him find his father.

Foreshadowing

Foreshadowing

In the beginning of the book "Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident," Artemis was in a therapist's room and got a call from his workers, The workers are from his expedition to find his lost father, because of this he said he felt that the beginning of something good was coming. This hints that an adventure is coming, as usual, like in the other books. Artemis will go through an adventure to find and return his father back home. This is an example of foreshadowing, it's a hint to what will happen throughout the story!

Initial Thoughts on Artemis Fowl

Initial Thoughts

I recently checked out a book named "Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident" and so far it's really good. It's the follow-up of "Artemis Fowl", which I absolutely loved! The author of this series of books is Eoin Colfer, I've read a few of his other books and they're pretty good too.

Judging by the cover of the book, it looks like the story takes place in the cold and in a jail-like setting. It was really intriguing so I decided to give it a chance. The title also ties in with the cover art, there's a huge incident that happens in an area where it's freezing.

So far in the book it's just been introducing existing and new characters like Artemis and Holly. Artemis has just got a lead on where his father could be. He's been missing for 2 years and was declared legally dead, but Artemis doesn't believe that he's dead, so he's funding an expedition to find and rescue his father. So exciting! Can't wait to get further into the book.
